Should have written this up last week, but me and Rosie poodled on down to Wayne Hemingways 3 day extravaganza that was ‘Vintage Festival’.
Having taken over the The Royal Festival Hall, the Southbank was buzzing with Londoners and Tourists all flocking to see the wonders of Vintage in the gorgeous sunshine.
From beach huts to beach bars, vintage markets to cocktail vans. The dancehall tunes radiated from the RFH and generally everyone was in the ‘best of britsh’ spirits.
We enjoyed a bottle of bubbly courtesy of Rosie at the Dishroom‘s Chowpatty bar and tiddled our way through the vintage market. After much ‘yuck – who would ever have worn that!’ and ‘oooh, that’s lush’ we meandered down for eats. Rosie picks seafood Paella and me a Polish sausage roll with gherkins galore! Also spied my current favourite writer Caitlin Moran! It was tempting to run up to her and say ‘you’re frickin awesome’ but I simply had no balls.
All in all, a feel good sunday.
